Parcel Map

Parcel Map is a recorded California subdivision map generally used for subdivisions of four or fewer parcels, subject to statutory exceptions and local procedures. It establishes mapped parcel boundaries and dedications but does not by itself guarantee that each parcel can be developed.
What it means
A parcel map is prepared by a licensed surveyor or engineer as authorized and approved by the local agency under the Subdivision Map Act.
Why it matters for land decisions
The map can show dimensions, easements, offers of dedication, monuments, and approval history.
